Poramba Liyanage Nilantha Lakshman

 

BIOGRAPHY

Dr.NilanthaLiyanage is a senior Lecturer in the Department of Food Science and Technology at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ruhuna. Dr.NilanthaLiyanage completed his Ph.D. at Graduate school of Agriculture, University of Kagoshima, Japan. He obtained one MSc degree in Biotechnology from university of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka and another MSc degree in Agricultural Sciences from University of the Ryukyus, Japan. Heobtained his BSc in Agriculture from University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka. His research interests lie in the areas of Enzymology, Fermentation Technology and Biotechnology. In recent years, he has focused on enzyme applications in controlling food antigenicities. He has collaborated actively with researchers in several other disciplines such ascrystallography, Molecular Biochemistry, Indigenous knowledge on water technology. At present Dr.NilanthaLiyanage is holding the position of Head of the department, Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, university of Ruhuna.
