  • Obtained a Doctoral Degree from the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, Copenhagen, Denmark in 1995.

  • Obtained an MSc (Agric. ) from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, State University of Ghent, Belgium in 1985.

  • Obtained a Diploma in Rural Social Leadership from College of Agriculture, Xavior University, Philippines in 1980.

  • Obtained a Second Class Honours Degree in BSc (Agric.) from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sri Lanka, Peradeniya Campus, Sri Lanka in 1977.

 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Supervised more than 100 undergraduates who followed the special programme in Food Science and Technology in the fields of fruits and vegetables, dairy, fish and meat, etc.

  • Supervised an MPhil student in the field of Food Science and Technology.“Improvement of shelf-life in edible grade sesame oil by maintaining acid value and free fatty acid level in seeds and oil.”

  • Conducted special lectures and seminars on technology of fruits and vegetables at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University, Copenhagen, Denmark.

  • Administrative experience as Head, Department of Food Science and Technology.

  • Participated in a workshop on Methods of Biochemical Analysis and Food Analysis in Denmark in 1989.
