Description:Erect tree, reaching 20-27 m in height, branches glabrous; leaves alternate, 7.5-15 cm, large, compound with 9-10 obovate leaflets, leaflets 6.25 by 3.7 cm usually, rigidly subcoriaceous with slightly raised veins, lower surface pale, emerginate at the apex; panicles axillary and terminal, copiously branched, branches spreading and corymbose; flowers papilionaceous, pink or people, 1.25 cm, calyx more or less silky, the standard 0.6 cm broad, keel much shorter than the wings; pods glabrous, 3.7-10 by 1.5-1.8 cm, bright brown, flexible, stalked, usually one seeded.  
Propagation: By seeds.

 Uses: Bark: used in intermittent fever, its infusion given internally in dyspepsia; Seed oil: in rheumatism, wood is a good fuel.
