Description: A floating aquatic annual herb with fibrous
rooted nodes and soft elongate intemodes bearing spongy floats; leaves
bipinnate, leaflets 8-15 pairs, small, sensitive, narrow-oblong, obtuse, glabrous, flowers minute, yellow. in axillaly oblong, heads: fruits stalked, deflexed, oblique oblong pods seeds 6 to 9 slightly compressed obvoid-oblong brown. |

Uses: The plant is astringent, sweet, refrigerant, diuretic,
antidiarrhoeal, anthelmintic and anodyne. It is useful in vitiated
conditions of pitta, otalgia, cephalalgia, syphilis, burning • sensation, dipsia. diarrhoea, strangury and helminthiasis. |
