    Dr SK Charles Memorial Gold Medal awarded by Mrs. MP Gunawardena to the graduate who obtained highest GPA for all the compulsory courses at the final year of the BSc Agricultural Resource Management and Technology honours degree. 2016

     

    The Gold Medal is awarded by Professor YDA Senanayake to the graduate who obtained the highest Grade Point Average for all the compulsory courses offered by the Department of Crop Science in all the examinations of the BSc Agricultural Resource Management and Technology degree. 2016

RESEARCH

Currently engaged in a research on the topic of “Modelling rainfall and trend analysis of rainfall data for a revised cropping calendar” for the fulfillment of requirement for the degree M.Sc. in Applied Statistics as the research component.

 

Engaged in a research on the topic of “Impact of climatic changes on paddy yield in Sri Lanka” with Mrs. DABN Amarasekara, Senior Lecturer, Department of Crop Science, University of Ruhuna

 

Completed a case study on “Suggestions to uplift the small scale floriculture industry in Matara district in the aftermath of recent flood damages”.

 

Completed the final year research project at university level titled, “Dynamics of soil & endophytic microbial abundance in upland and lowland crops” in 2016.

 

Completed a group research under the topic of “Farmers Perspects on Agrotourism” a case study in Mirissa area in 2015.

 

Completed a mini innovative group project by making a “Mushroom bag filling machine” in 2015.

Experienced in handling analytical instruments including CHN analyzer, HPLC, Gas Chromatography, Electron Microscope and other laboratory equipment.
